Afshin Goodarzi Joins Company as Managing Director of Predictive Analytics
NEW YORK – May 4, 2011 – 1010data, Inc., the leading cloud-based big data analytics platform, has hired Mr. Afshin Goodarzi as the managing director of predictive analytics. In his new role, Goodarzi will be responsible for the development and support of new analytical capabilities for 1010data’s cloud-based big data analytical platform.
“Gaining insight into large datasets has traditionally been a complex, time consuming and at times tortuous process” said Afshin Goodarzi. “My goal at 1010data is to help analysts and business users see how the speed of the platform can dramatically shift the types of questions that they can pose and ultimately allow the users to rapidly mine actionable intelligence from large bodies of data.”
“We are thrilled to have Afshin join the company,” said Greg Munves, executive vice president of 1010data. “His extensive background in predictive analytics and data modeling will help us continue to push the envelope with the 1010data platform and bring our technology to more vertical markets.”
1010data’s cloud-based big data platform allows companies to get much quicker answers to questions so that predictive analytics and modeling are within easy reach of senior management and business analysts. Historically, to use predictive analytics, companies were forced to reduce the size and complexity of their data sets, by creating smaller subsets or cubes. The underlying technology that enables lightning-fast analysis in 1010data’s cloud eliminates the need for preprocessing of this sort bringing a new caliber of flexibility to data analysis and predictive modeling.
Prior to joining 1010data, Goodarzi served as the managing director of Equifax Capital Markets Analytics, where he oversaw predictive modeling and research for the Capital Markets group. Before Equifax, he served as vice president of analytics at Loan Performance (now CoreLogic), where he managed a team responsible for building prepayment and credit models.
Goodarzi holds a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering and an M.A. in Computer Sciences from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.
