About the Role: 

1010data is looking to bring on a Director, Strategic Accounts & Customer Growth as part of our continued growth, and recent market launch of the innovative Retail Analytics Solution, we are incredibly excited to be adding new positions to our team to further drive engagement with our marquee clients. As part of this growth story and next stage in our evolution, we are hiring for an experienced and collaborative Account Director with a background in Retail & CPG that has had demonstratable success in delivering measurable value through analytic solutions to large retailers with a focus on merchandise, marketing, store ops & supply chain.

In this role, you will lead a portfolio of existing retailer engagements to ensure they receive full value from their partnership with 1010data and to expand footprint at those accounts by developing client-centric plans that match their corporate objectives & data/analytical needs to 1010data’s suite of solutions. You will be a strategic advisor to your clients and seek to expand relationships & influence by understanding their needs and collaborating with 1010data support teams to apply solutions & deliver incremental value.

You will have deep experience using data & analytics to help retailers solve complex business problems and will preferably have held roles both client and agency side. We are looking for leading candidates that understand how analytics, tools, and processes come together to support retailer merchandising, marketing & supply chain functions, and can develop delivery & growth plans to expand those engagements.

You will possess a true consultative approach and are passionate about providing fit-for-purpose solutions for clients. Your success in this role will be driven by an ability to empathize and understand your clients, and collaborate in a matrixed internal delivery model to develop & execute strategic plans that drive win:win outcomes for both 1010data and our clients.

As an integral component of client success you should enjoy, and be willing to, travel domestically to client sites for face-to-face meetings once that is safe welcomed by our clients.

What you will take on: 

Revenue Management

  • Commercially responsible for your portfolio of clients, you will own revenue targets, contracts, client satisfaction and renewals/expansion
  • Expertly drive a complex buying cycle with both technical & business decision makers while working in lockstep with 1010data delivery teams
  • Uncover new opportunities, lead the discovery process and convert to mutually beneficial outcomes that deliver on client needs and 1010data revenue goals
  • Negotiate contracts and T&C, close business and collaborate internally to ensure successful implementations and long-term success for your clients
  • Deliver accurate forecasting of growth opportunities and manage pipeline via Salesforce

Client Advocacy

  • Be the voice of the client in 1010data and collaborate with Customer Success, Solutions Engineering, Product & Technology teams to ensure client needs are uncovered and delivered upon
  • Develop short, medium and long term account plans to solve client challenges, tailor our approach to their needs, and drive this client-centric delivery & growth model through our organization
  • Build meaningful relationships and deep credibility across multiple client divisions and develop a trusted advisor partnership with key client stakeholders

Retail Analytics Center of Excellence

  • Elevate and evangelize a client centric delivery model across the organization. Be the recognized focal point and in-house expert for your clients, bringing all functions together in pursuit of client satisfaction and excellence in delivery
  • Be a champion for client Case Studies & references, acknowledging the value this can generate for our ability to win new clients. Instill this mindset throughout the teams supporting your clients
  • Act as a hub for Innovation & New Solutions by leveraging client knowledge to support solution cross sell into other 1010data clients and in pursuit of new business
  • Assimilate and share market & competitor intelligence keeping 1010data teams informed of market activity. Synthesize client feedback to inform our roadmap and improve competitive position & messaging. 

What you will bring: 

  • At least 10 years’ experience in sales and/or key account management for retail focused analytics or marketing technology firms
  • Strong knowledge of  Retail/CPG, and the role that analytics plays in the ecosystem is a must. Prior experience working in client organizations and/or hands-on experience in an analytic role is a plus
  • Demonstratable track record of exceeding quota attainment and growing retained accounts through client centric methods
  • Excellent & polished communicator, both written and verbal. Can create compelling stories, presentations and proposals that motivate and drive action. Can effectively communicate with Executive and Associate levels, both technical and non-technical audiences. Can motivate and exhilarate internal teams to deliver over and above client expectations
  • Consultative approach to sales that is focused on gaining a deep understanding of client needs, asking open questions, with an ability to intently listen and respond to the issue at hand
  • Fast learner with an ability to quickly gain deep knowledge of a client’s business, adapt to economic & industry trends, and harness to uncover new growth opportunities
  • People describe you as an ambitious, driven, and highly collaborative self-starter who embraces challenges and has an insatiable desire to win. You have a clear track record of role progression
  • High degree of curiosity and desire to continuously learn. Obsessed with understanding consumer behavior and how technology can help uncover game changing findings
  • Entrepreneurial business savvy, comfortable with ambiguity, calm under pressure and can operate within a fast-paced environment. You have a roll up your sleeves attitude to match
