About the role: 

A cross-functional Product Management leader focused on overall product success across the product lifecycle. Responsible for ensuring we build and maintain a total product for our target buyer and user inclusive of packaging, training, workflows and documentation to ensure product will deliver value to the buyer.  Working with direction from the Chief Product Officer you will manage a product owner and lead a cross-functional team defining the vision for our products.  You will engage with clients and prospects sharing your real-world experience with alternative data and evangelizing the need for broader insights not afforded by syndicated market tracking services.  You will work directly with clients to understand needs and collaborate with the UX team to understand the design, white board, develop and bring the product to life.  Prioritize major initiatives, and partner with sales and marketing to ensure product is sellable. The product manager function is the expert on the buyer and end-user. This glue role communicates closely with prospects, customers, development, sales, and marketing, to build and communicate clear product requirements that match user needs. Product Managers must have subject matter knowledge in their space, and technical knowledge to work with development to ensure requirements are reasonable and feasible.  


 What you will take on: 

  • Collaborate with the Chief Product Officer on the overall product vision and how we will evolve existing products and development new products building a strategic advantage for our clients and 1010data 
  • Manage, mentor and coach the Product Owner on the Retail / CPG industry as well as software product management and data analytics / insights 
  • Assess the competitive landscape ensuring products not only compete, but provide benefits to clients
  • Develop product strategy and prioritization with input from design, development, users, and leadership  
  • Build and maintain relationships, create buy-in for product strategy and specs for key stakeholders (internal and customers)  
  • Build product specifications (prototypes / wireframes) that detail user and client requirements  
  • Work closely with UX, development and marketing teams to deliver product to market 
  • Evangelize the product portfolio across internal and external stakeholders to ensure our products have a pathway to ROI which is clearly believable including high ratings for usability and customer success 

What you already have: 

  • Significant Retail and CPG experience is required either from the service / product provider or from internal at a Retailer or CPG 
  • Expertise in data including alternative data such as receipts, click-stream, card panels (credit/debit/loyalty) 
  • Experience working cross-functionally with Data Science, Partnerships, Eng. and Marketing to define, build, launch and maintain products 
  • Process management expertise focusing on how to deliver value in a repeatable manner through software including combining data, science and user experience 
  • Passion for UX that includes the ability to place yourself in the user’s chair and represent their values throughout the development lifecycle 
  • Willingness to roll-up your sleeves write requirements and engage in the agile software development process
  • Player coach mentality ready to operate in a flat structure and cross-functionally bringing together a matrixed organization to deliver great products 
  • Strong sense of ownership and pride in building solutions that significantly change the way in which people work leveraging data, machine learning and AI to streamline processes and bring clients through a maturity curve 
  • The ability to prioritize priorities, saying no more than yes, explaining the “why” and driving to outcomes
