We All Screen for Sunscreen

While some of us are screaming for ice cream in the summer, others are screening for the perfect sunscreen. Online searches for sunscreen increased 23% from the first half of 2016 to the first half of 2017. Consumers are getting more conscious of the products they buy and certain keywords can be crucial in influencing a consumer’s decision to purchase. In fact, 8% of sunscreen purchases online contain ‘organic’ or ‘natural’ in the product name.


1010data analyzed online sunscreen sales from January – June 2017 and found that:

  • EltaMD is the top selling sunscreen brand online
  • Neutrogena is the most searched sunscreen brand online
  • La Roche-Posay increased online sunscreen sales 2.4x year over year
  • 17% of moisturizers purchased online contain SPF
